Good morning fellow members, NDOWRA, and all others interested in septic systems,
As noted in the recent letter sent to the board, the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is working diligently to finalize its oversight of the state’s Administrative Code sections for septic systems. DEQ’s oversight officially took effect on August 1, 2025.
While progress is moving slowly-which we believe is a good thing-it’s clear that all parties involved recognize the magnitude of this undertaking. We remain in regular contact with DEQ, providing insights and opinions where appropriate. Communication between all parties has been excellent.
We will continue to share updates with you as work moves forward. If you have any comments, concerns, or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the board or me personally.
